SOCOSIX is a multigenerational and international team drawn from the ranks of U.S. Government departments and agencies, retired members of the foreign service, and military special operations — extending the vision of our late founder, Colonel Richard T. "Dick" Ryer, USAF (Ret.).

Shannon Pressley

Shannon Pressley

Chief Executive Officer

Shannon Pressley is the chief executive officer and a founding member of SOCOSIX. She has experience leading commercial and finance operations in the U.S. and Latin America and her expertise spans global financial strategy and regulatory compliance. Previously, she was the chief financial officer, responsible for global financial operations and risk management.

Matthew Anderson

Matthew Anderson

Vice President

Matt Anderson has held senior leadership positions within both corporate and contract security organizations for nearly 30 years, where he led regional and global security teams, drove operational excellence, strengthened strategic client partnerships, and built high-performing security programs. He also served as President of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of ASIS International, reflecting his commitment to advancing the security profession and developing future security leaders.

Luke Durden

Luke Durden

Director, Global Operations

Lucas Durden is a veteran of the Alabama Air National Guard and an Auburn University-Montgomery alumnus. Following his service in the Air National Guard, Lucas served in the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department providing leadership across several operational areas, including District Station Command, Special Operations, and Organized Crime and Narcotics divisions. After 24 years of service in law enforcement, Lucas retired as a Captain and has been a part of the SOCOSIX team since February 2025.

Victor Wiens

Victor Wiens

Director, Finance & Accounting

Prior to joining SOCOSIX, Vic Wiens had a career with the US Department of Defense (DoD). During his government service, Vic held many diverse positions within financial management, having served as a Comptroller on two occasions. Vic had the good fortune of serving in many locations throughout the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Dave Moseley

Dave Moseley

Director, Risk & Assurance

Dave Moseley is a senior risk and operations professional with 27 years of combined military and private security experience. He began his career in the British military, deploying on operations to Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Macedonia, before moving into the private sector. His subsequent experience includes 15 years with commercial and diplomatic missions in Iraq, two years with diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, work in Saudi Arabia, and later the U.S. Department of State in Portugal. He holds a master's degree in security and risk management, which helps him combine extensive operational experience with structured risk analysis and strategic decision making. Dave has been a part of SOCOSIX since 2025.

Mark Smith

Mark Smith

Deputy Director, Global Operations

Mark Smith immigrated to the United States from South Africa and built a distinguished law enforcement career spanning more than 25 years in the Washington, DC area. Throughout his career, he served in leadership roles across aviation, investigations, and undercover operations teams, earning extensive experience in complex security and operational environments. Following his retirement from law enforcement, Mark served as Global Security Director for a nonprofit organization operating throughout the Middle East and North Africa region, and since March 2025, he has been part of the SOCOSIX team.

Amy Penix

Amy Penix

Global Business Development Manager

Amy brings a strong background in sales, marketing, operations, and client engagement to her role at SOCOSIX. Prior to joining the company, she spent five years with a large online company focusing on sales & marketing. She joined SOCOSIX three years ago as an Operations Coordinator, where she gained hands-on experience supporting operational initiatives and client services across the organization. Through her leadership, dedication, and deep understanding of the company's mission, she advanced through multiple roles within the organization.

Ambassador Mark G. Hambley (Ret.)

Advisor on International Matters

Mark Hambley is an advisor on international matters and a founding member of SOCOSIX. Mark advises public, private, and governmental entities on physical risk, travel, intelligence, assessments, surveillance, technological, and cyber-related issues. Prior to SOCOSIX, Mark was the Director of International Matters for Apollo International and a veteran of over 32 years in the U.S. Foreign Service that included exposure to global political, economic, and environmental currents, with particular emphasis on the Middle East where he served as ambassador to Qatar and Lebanon. He is on the Executive Committee of the Middle East Policy Council and is a Trustee of the Next Century Foundation. He received an Honorary Doctorate in 2012 for his efforts at conflict resolution in several war zones and continues to travel internationally in these and other professional capacities. He is a prolific writer of analyses for both government and business concerns and is a pro-bono consultant on a variety of international and domestic panels dealing with cross-cultural relations and on-going international traumas.

Jorge Becerril

Advisor on Mexico Matters

Jorge is an instrumental component to our operations, partner relations, and strategy throughout Mexico, Central and South America. A bi-lingual former Senior Security Advisor and Program Manager to the American Government, Jorge brings 20 years of experience from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City where he was the lead liaison to local and federal Mexican authorities, oversaw investigator recruiting, background investigations, and was responsible for the operations plans and logistics for official trips to restricted and dangerous locations. He was part of the Emergency and Natural Disaster Team, Advisor to the Regional Security Office on travel policy within Mexico and a member of the trainers team for private security guards and foreign service of national executive protection.
